ABOUT SOCIAL SKILLS GROUPS

Autism Breakthrough of Knoxville, a 501c3 non-profit organization, was founded in 1999 by parents of children with autism who wanted to make sure their children were supported after graduating high school. The organization has continued to grow over the years, providing a variety of programs and opportunities.

In 2022, Micki Benoit piloted Autism Breakthrough Social Skills Groups, and it is growing at an exponential rate. Groups serve a population of high functioning adults on the spectrum who are vastly underserved and in significant need of support. Social Skills Groups play a crucial role in developing the skills necessary for successful interactions, independence and relationships, as well as building self-esteem and confidence. Breakthrough currently stands as the only provider of therapeutic social skills groups for individuals ages 14 and up in the Knoxville area.
